Chapter 21 Summary

Augustus dies in the hospital, eight days after his pre-funeral. He was with his mom, dad and sisters. His mom called Hazel at 3:30 in the morning to let Hazel know. when Hazel's parents come in the room, Hazel senses they are feeling the terror that will one day face them, when she dies. Hazel calls Isaac to tell him.

When Hazel is alone, she thinks about how the pain she is feeling is a ten on a scale of one to ten. She calls Gus's cell phone and listens to his voice on the voice mail. She gets on his wall page online and sees all of the condolences rolling in. she finds it ironic that most of the posts are from people she's never heard of, or that she knows Gus hasn't seen in months.
