Summary

Mae is at her bachelorette party with her best friend Katie, complaining about the antics of her sorority sisters. Though Katie comes from a stable, middle-class family, her and her husband operate a collection of charter schools, Endeavor, struggling financially to an extent while raising a child. Mae offers to open a college-savings plan for Katie's daughter, her goddaughter, and they have an argument over Rosa's future. Mae is horrified that Katie would send her daughter to her charter school with other students from struggling backgrounds due to her abstract ideals, while Katie insists that the choice is theirs and Rosa would still succeed.
