Summary

Part III begins with Chapter 49, where Libby and Miller are getting ready to go meet Sally. They are staying in a Premier Inn hotel, which Libby associates with positive things like weddings and hen nights. It is comforting and welcoming to her. On the five-hour ride there, Libby had learned that Miller was in a car accident at age 22 and spent a year in a wheelchair while he went through rehabilitation therapy.
