Chapters 21 - 40 Summary

In Chapter 21, Errol returns Sage's old clothes to him, and Sage tells Errol there is a bump in one of Conner's books that needs straightening out -where the silver coin is hidden. Sage discovers a piece of gold, given to him, and hidden in the old clothing, is missing. He confronts Conner about it, who tells Sage that it isn't his anymore. Sage steals it back, and is brought before Conner. Sage refuses to surrender the rock, so he is brought to the dungeon for punishment.

In Chapter 22, Sage is brought down to the dungeons to be punished. He begs Mott not to hurt him. Mott whips him, and then treats his injuries. Sage is then left alone to think about his actions.
