Summary

In Chapter 4, Claire recognized that she had allowed her husband, Mark, to talk her into being a dentist. As Claire was working on a patient, the day of the robbery at the Deli Barn, she was called to the phone by her hygienist. Claire immediately pictured that something bad had happened to Evan because she had been working the day she got the call about Evan’s injury. She remembered how useless she had felt in comforting Evan that day and how she was relieved when Mark had finally arrived.
