Summary

Tuor feels fresh air as they receive a small respite from Morgoth’s influence. However, they hear a cry of the Orcs, and Tuor knows that they have been discovered. They climb up the ridge and hide in an opening behind a boulder until the Orcs stop searching for them. However, the narrator reveals that Morgoth does not know of either of them and the Orcs are looking for Blacksword. By morning, the two continue on until they see the Encircling Mountains. He says they are close to the SIrion River. Voronwë stops them before the Brithiach river as he does not think they can cross it. He then realizes it is guarded by the Eagles of Crissaegrim.
