Summary

After the trip to the Piggly Wiggly, the family and Uncle Ray head to the watering hole. On the drive over, Dixie listens to Mama and Uncle Ray’s conversation and notes that Mama is a very different person around Uncle Ray than she was with Daddy; she seems less confident and sure of herself. When they get to the water hole AJ and Dixie jump in the water immediately and start showing off for Mama and Uncle Ray with the swinging rope on the tree. AJ does a perfect jump with praise and approval raining down on him. Dixie grabs the rope to try to achieve the same feat – and receive the same praise – and instead slams her butt right in the dirt.
