Summary

“Three” opens with the focus on Patricia. She remembers being called to help the night that Looksmart was born. When Patricia commented the baby was strong, the mother said she would call him Looksmart. Patricia stayed longer that night than she generally did. She also made a habit of going each day to visit the baby.

The next section focuses on Richard. Richard thinks he has found his house, but he cannot locate the gate so he worries that he is at the wrong house and might get shot.
