Summary

Chapter 25 describes Mam seeking help from a former teacher named Roy. She requests information about how long she can stay away from school without losing her scholarship, as she intends to go to Liberia to save her family. Roy discourages her at first but quickly realizes she is determined. He tells her she has roughly two months in which to find her family, otherwise she will not be allowed to continue her schooling. In Chapter 26, Mam decides to fly to Sierra Leone and from there to go as close to the Liberian border as possible, since entering the country would put her at too much risk.
