Clay

Clay is a MudWing dragon and one of the five dragonets of the prophecy. He was the first to hatch, and the minders have often told the story that he attacked the other four eggs. The minders use this as an encouragement that Clay has a killer instinct and could be a great warrior, though Clay does not feel that killer instinct the minders seek. When Clay finds other MudWings and learns more about his tribe, he realizes that he was not attacking the other eggs. Instead, he was trying to help them hatch, which is the role of the first hatched of a MudWing group. Clay is bigger than the other dragonets who are part of the prophecy, and he often puts himself between them and danger, even though he is not particularly adept at fighting.
