Swan Summary

Frankie and her family live in New Jersey. The summer after Frankie's freshman year, she fills out in all the right places. Frankie had been a scrawny girl who got by at Alabaster Preparatory Academy by being the little sister of Zada. Zada had watched out for Frankie. Frankie joins the debate team through Zada. Frankie has furthermore never been in love.

Swan Analysis

The reader receives background information about Frankie who transforms from a slightly geeky girl into a knock-out debater over the course of the summer. The reader also learns that Frankie is closest to her sister Zada and Zada will prove important in the coming chapters.
