Book 1, Discovery: Chapters 5-7 Summary

In Chapter 5. after his experiences in Bosnia, Branch has had a long recovery. During his recovery, Branch repeatedly described the people who confronted him and his navigator while they were on the ground as monsters, pale, super strong, and showing odd growths. No one believes Branch, but they do not know what to do with him so they give him a small unit of men and allow him to return to Bosnia. Branch returns to the scene of his crash and begins making short trips into the caves around the area. After a few months, Branch and his team return from one of their trips underground with a picture of a footprint that seems to confirm what Branch has been saying.

Over the next few months hundreds of troops from all over the world begin making trips...
