Summary

Chapter 13 is narrated by Osita in the first person. Months after the family get-together at the village house, Osita went to Vivek’s family’s house, and learned from Kavita that Vivek was likely visiting Juju. At Maja’s house, Juju allowed him to see Vivek after confirming that Vivek was all right with it, but said she did not know why Vivek had agreed to see him after the things he “said to him in the village” (119). Feeling ashamed, Osita assured her that he would not say anything like that now.
