Summary

In Chapter 46, Hal went into Mrs. Warren’s rooms, hoping to get the truth from her. As she looked for the older lady, Hal knocked over a pile of pictures and noticed that all of them were of Ezra. She was unable to find Mrs. Warren in her rooms and was walking toward an open door at the back of Mrs. Warren’s bedroom when she hears Ezra call her name. Hal realized too late what had happened.

In Chapter 47, Hal demanded to know why Ezra had not told her that he was her father, why he had told her that Abel had lied to her. She demanded to know what he had done to her mother and realized when his pupils dilated and then contracted that he had killed her. Hal told him she knew he was talking about Maud, not Maggie...
