Istedgade Home

Tove's Istedgade home is where she spends the majority of her childhood. She lives in this apartment with her mother, father, and brother. The space is diminutive and claustrophobic. Both Tove and Edvin feel trapped while living here, desperate for their own private space. When Edvin turns 18, he moves out. His absence makes the home even more unbearable for Tove, and she vows to move as soon as she turns 18, too. Before she can do so, however, her parents find a new apartment in Westend.

Westend Apartment

The Westend apartment is Tove's second childhood home. The family moves here so they can have more space. Initially Tove is excited by the move, because she will have her own room.
