Chapter 18, Prince Alexi's Education Contnues Summary

Prince Alexi is trained in the Queen's chamber. He learns every step it takes to get the Queen dressed, from polishing her jewelry to brushing her hair and fastening her garment using his teeth. In addition to serving the Queen, Alexi is made to service other slaves, beginning with Prince Gerald, the Queen's favorite. Gerald is chained to the wall to watch in tormented jealousy as Alexi attends to the Queen. When Alexi's tasks are complete, the Queen orders him to bathe and pleasure Gerald. Alexi is degraded, having to serve his enemy, but he quickly obeys.

When Alexi drops a wine pitcher, the Queen has a special punishment in mind for him. Prince Alexi is led to a room of female slaves being rewarded for good behavior with time to relax. A sign is hung around Alexi's neck...
