Chapter 11 Summary and Analysis

Chapter 11. When Melony returns to Bath, she runs into Lorna at the pizza place. Melony tells Lorna what happened with Homer and how disappointed she is in Homer because she thought he was a hero. The guy Lorna is with gets in a fight with Melony, breaking Melony's arm and nose. Lorna takes Melony to the hospital, and they move back in together in the boardinghouse for women.

When the car pulls up to the cider house, it's not Wally, but Mr. Rose who steps out. Mr. Rose arrives with his daughter, Rose, who is about the same age as Angel. Rose has a baby of her own, who doesn't have a name yet. When Angel goes to the cider house the next morning on his mother's behalf to see if Rose needs anything for the baby, Angel falls in love...
