Point of View

The novel is written in third person from limited viewpoints that vary depending on the scene and the situation. In the first section, which has forty-two chapters, the majority of the chapters are presented from the perspectives of Kylie, Rachel, and Pete. There are a few chapters written from the perspective of Ginger, though she is identified only as “she” in those chapters. Interestingly, the author does reveal Olly's name in those opening chapters, though the reader knows only that Olly is also involved in operating The Chain. The limited perspective is not overly limited because it changes periodically, giving the reader a view of what is happening to various characters.

In the second section of the novel, the author makes a change and the first chapter appears from an omniscient perspective as the reader gets their first look at Olly and Ginger as toddlers...
