Summary

In Chapter 68, Marty is in the master bedroom, looking down at the scenery. He imagines himself settling down with Ginger. He cares about Rachel, but sees that marriage as a mistake of his youth. He is surprised when he sees Rachel just outside the house, and says so to Ginger. She points a gun at his head.

In Chapter 69, Rachel, armed with a shotgun, forces the guard to release Pete. Ginger arrives and Rachel is suddenly certain that she has made some sort of mistake. Olly and Red also arrive on the scene, armed. Rachel begins to try to explain, hoping to diffuse the situation before someone gets hurt, but then she looks directly into Ginger's eyes and realizes that Ginger is The Chain. Rachel conveys this to Pete and he shoots out a light.
