Part I: All the Lost Girls

Chapter 1 opens on Thursday at 7:55 a.m. Kylie O'Neill is at the bus stop near her home on Plum Island when a man wearing a ski mask forces her into a car at gunpoint. She drops her phone. He instructs her to put on a blindfold and Kylie realizes that she should have run, even while she is buckling up in the back seat. She hears a woman talking from the front seat and the man gets into the seat beside Kylie. The man warns the woman to slow down, but she is speeding again when they cross the state line into New Hampshire and a police officer pulls them over. They instruct Kylie to remove the blindfold and to keep her eyes closed. She does, and she hears the officer talking to the woman. The officer...
