Chapter 18 & 19 Summary

In Chapter 18, Qwill decides to bestow Emma's belongings upon Joanna, but when he bikes to her house through the flood, he finds her house destroyed. He phones Glinko, and Mrs. Glinko assures him that Little Joe is around somewhere. Qwill calls Mildred to ask about his horoscope. The "Morning Rampage" tells him to hang in a little longer, but the "Daily Fluxion" tells him to cut his losses. Qwill is inclined to agree with the horoscope in the "Morning Rampage". When Nick Bamba visits, he advises Qwill to move back to Pickax immediately because he has heard nasty rumblings among the local troublemakers and worries they may do something to the cats. Qwill grows pensive at the mention of Koko and Yum Yum. Gary Pratt from the Black Bear Cafe callss Qwill and warns him that a nasty crowd is plotting against him...
