Chapter 6 & 7 Summary

In Chapter 6, since it rains hard on Saturday, Qwill does not expect Clem to work, but he is surprised when the carpenter does not call. When he praises Clem to the cats, Koko taps his tail in reply. Qwill call Glinko about the mice, and Young Jake goes into the crawl space and seals the mice's entrance. Qwill is surprised that Clem does not appear when the rain stops. On Sunday, the temperature is pleasant and the sun is shining, but the water runs cold during Qwill's shower so he calls Glinko. He attends the Wimsey family reunion on the Wimsey centennial farm on Sandpit Road and observes the festivities. When Qwill questions Maryellen, she says that Clem is out of town and will hopefully return tomorrow.
