Summary

Chapter 1 – The Spring Haven Herald announces the winners of the Confectionary Association’s annual new candy contest. Thirty-two 12-year-old kids are chosen from around the country to participate. From Region III are Logan Sweet, Miles O’Leary, Daisy Carpenter, and Philip Ransford III, due to report to Life is Sweet Candy Factory two days before the competition begins. Logan and his parents live at their Life is Sweet Candy Factory. His father is the Candymaker, the man in charge. Logan is thrilled not only to be participating in the contest, but also that three other kids will be living at the factory as well. Logan’s life revolves around candy, so other kids being around will be out of the ordinary. Logan’s father reminds him to make those kids feel welcome.
