Summary

Pages 223 to 247 -- Cassie and Bev had moved in mid-June. Julia had to accept that her friendship with Cassie "was truly finished" (223). Julia and Peter dated for six months, from the summer after 9th grade into the fall of Julia's 10th grade year. Julia worried that he was projecting his feelings for Cassie onto her, now that Cassie was gone. They broke up around Christmas, but stayed friends for a few months, until Peter got a new girlfriend.

The narrative switches from the past tense, where Julia was summarizing what happened to her and Peter after Cassie was found, to the present tense. Julia says "I'm still here. I'm fine," and that she will soon be a senior in high school (225). She sees a therapist once a week, but does not feel like there is a point in talking to her.
