Summary

Pages 165 to 196 -- Cassie went missing at the beginning of April during their 9th grade year. She had gone missing over the weekend, and that Tuesday at school people were already discussing it. She had gotten into an argument with Anders Shute after she came home past her curfew, and when Anders threatened to throw Cassie out of the house she stormed out herself. Bev remained upstairs during the argument, which only made Cassie more upset.

Cassie had gone to Peter's house Wednesday night after she returned, because "he was the one friend she could trust," and Peter felt like Cassie "could see him clearly" for the first time (167).
