Jean moves Margaret into her house with Karim's brother Allie. Haroon and Karim go to live with Eva. Eva does her best to make Karim feel welcome. She is interested in helping him find a career. Karim stops going to school, but Eva arranges for him to go to a college to finish his schooling. Neither Karim's heart nor his head are interested in education, however.
