Summary

In Chapter 11, Rags is explaining to his brother Ron, Becky’s uncle, how he lost the money and drugs. Ron is worried he will lose his restaurant, Giuseppe’s, which has been financed by Pico. Even as his brother tries to calm him down, Ron is nearly in hysterics about the prospect of losing his restaurant. He says, “I will lose it,” while barely holding himself together (283). Ron takes a hit of cocaine before his brother explains the situation. Rags had arranged to meet up with Harry at a club owned by his friend Lucy. Even though Ron is critical of this arrangement, Rags insists that he trust his friend Lucy “unequivocally” (287). When he arrived, one of Lucy’s employees, Joey, took him to the club’s basement, where Rags set up his money and drugs...
