Summary

In the chapter titled “Friday, August 7th,” the pram Cass looked at in the baby store arrives on Matthew’s birthday instead of the shed that Cass ordered for him. She explains that she ordered a shed for him and tells him about her trip to the baby store and the sleep suit she had meant to give him. They conclude that the store sent the pram to the wrong address. He calls them and comes back to her thinking that she is pregnant. She tells him why the saleswoman thinks that she is.
