The Train Station “Farewell”

Farewell is the unofficial name of the train station where Will first arrives to wait for his father. This is an important location for Will, even though he only spends a few moments there. Will first meets both Maren as well as Van Horne in the train station. It’s also the first place that Will reveals his love for art. Will also discusses his poverty while he’s at the station. Symbolically, this is where Will will say 'goodbye' or 'farewell' to his preconceived notions of the world and of people.
