Summary

In Chapter 11: "Three Legs," Malcolm reports to Hannah again. The next day Hannah notices a van parked outside her home and gets nervous that they are here to take her to jail. However when she talks with them, the people from the van say that they are with Environmental Protection and are simply making sure that she is prepared for an potential flooding from the oncoming storm. Meanwhile, Malcolm talks with the sisters at the priory and notices a strange new daemon lurking as he walks home- a three-legged hyena who urinates on the pathway, a move that shocks Malcolm. Also, he never saw a maimed daemon before. Malcolm runs back and tells the sisters that someone new is around, but cannot bring himself to tell them exactly what the hyena daemon did.
