Summary

In September 17, 2019, Crispin is in Iceland. He and Carmen are no longer together. Cheeseman is in his third year in prison. He always carries a photo of himself with his two daughters but suddenly realizes it's inexplicably missing. He receives a phone call from Dominic Fitzsimmons who works for the Ministry of Justice and has been working to get Cheeseman released. He says Cheeseman is being released on Friday. Crispin continues to feel guilty over his role in Cheeseman's imprisonment and calls himself a coward and perjurer.

In September 19, 2019, Crispin receives a call from the officials regarding his next book. He's told that the publishers are no longer interested in his next book, which is far overdue, and that he has to repay the advance he'd been given.

In September 20, 2019, Crispin knows that Cheeseman is flying...
