Chapter 42 Summary

Barney comes to tell Valancy the whole story. He tells her how the kids at school and college tormented him because of his father's inventions. When he found out Ethel was in love with him for his money, he took off. With the royalties from his first book as John Foster, he bought the island. He professes his lobe for Valancy. She realizes he really does love her. Uncle Benjamin decides to change his will and leave everything to Valancy.

Chapter 42 Analysis

Valancy has finally gotten everything she has always dreamed of having. She has a man that loves her. She has a man that she loves. She has her Blue Castle on the island.
