Chapter 30 Summary

Barney and Valancy spend a lot of time wandering in the nature. Valancy leans about everything from Barney, and even when they canoe in the rain, Valancy doesn't catch a cold. Each Sunday, they go to the Free Methodist church together. Valancy takes some of her money out of the bank to buy new clothes. She even buys a bathing suit and Barney teaches her how to swim.

Chapter 30 Analysis

Valancy feels as if she has been born again. For the first time, she feels as if she can die because she finally knows what it's like to live.
