Summary

In Chapter 17, Hollis wrote a secret letter to Valentina and then the two conspired to come to dinner together holding hands and wearing the color of the other’s country: Valentina in red, Hollis in blue. They entered the Great Room with Silas and his younger brother, Sullivan, and presented the kings with gifted matching crowns. Hollis and Valentina gave a speech about the importance of bringing peace to their countries, and the kings seemed to get along better afterwards. Jameson told Hollis she would look beautiful in any color, but he failed to mention any of her other efforts. Silas asked Hollis for a dance while Jameson was busy. They danced and talked. Out in the hall, they both confessed they had feelings for one another, and then they kissed.
