Summary

In Chapter 4, the man awakens and makes breakfast for both himself and the creature, using some of the strange produce he bought from the grocer. As the man gets dressed for the day, the creature fetches his hat for him. The man then enters into the city, where a sequence of panels depicts the bustling activity of the city as the townspeople work a multitude of unique jobs.

The man begins looking for work; he asks a cook, a mechanic, a store owner, and a pilot for a job, but is rejected by all of them. The man sits down in defeat, when suddenly the creature spots and runs up to a man who is hanging flyers. The man asks the worker for a job and is immediately accepted.
