Summary

In Chapter 14, the Cordon members lead Journeyman to the large, strange vehicle they found. A voice emanates from the vehicle’s built-in speaker. Journeyman recognizes it as Todbaum’s voice. Journeyman asks how the vehicle is able to function after the Arrest, but Todbaum gives no clear answer. Todbaum opens an entrance on the vehicle, allowing Journeyman to enter. Inside, Journeyman is shocked to find multiple sources of technology operating from the vehicle’s power source.

In Chapter 15, Todbaum says that the vehicle is powered by a nuclear reactor, and that he drove the vehicle all the way from California over the past months. He says that, a few years before the arrest, he paid to have the vehicle built, to be prepared for environmental cataclysms.
