Summary

“Part Four: The Telephone and A Toy,” is subtitled: “The housekeeper’s daughter.” The Aosawa’s housekeeper’s daughter is interviewed. Again, her interview is presented as a narrative directed toward an interviewer who removes all trace of herself from the section. The housekeeper notes that her mother died of natural causes several years ago. Before her death, however, she worked as a housekeeper for the Aosawas for over 20 years.
