Leia is the protagonist and narrator of the novel. She works as an artist for some of the most respected comic book companies in the world including Dark Horse, Marvel and DC comics. She has published one graphic novel, Violence in Violet which she wrote in college. Years later, the story took off and gained a following online. She had roughly based Violet on her, personifying the innocent part of herself which she believes has been destroyed. She gives Violet the power of “Super Pretty”, a quality that she wished she had.

Leia is single and has trouble with intimacy because of a negative teenage experience with her best friend at the time, JJ. They had slept together after JJ’s father had died.
