Summary

Chapter 16 begins with Leia and Lavender walking home from Martina Mack’s house. Lavender had watched her aunt fight with Martina. As they arrived home, Leia noticed the figure she had seen before at the cemetery, sitting on Birchie’s porch. She recognized that it was not her Batman but rather Jake. Jake and Lavender hugged and Jake apologized, seemingly to both of them. Leia forgave him for the past and felt more relief than she had felt when she had told him all things she had wanted to when speaking on the phone with him. Leia went inside while Jake and Lavender talked. She wanted to add Digby into the post apocalyptic scene she had drawn of Violet.
