Summary

The next chapter's title is “How it Was Before.” Cherie and Richard were part of a group that included Skeet and Ashley, who were 16, Jesse who was 15, and Hadarie and Dae who were 14. Cherie and Richard were 14 that year as well, though he seemed younger than the others. Cherie recounted that they played around a lot without thinking about their futures.
