Chapter 13 Summary

When Mom announces it is time, Mom and Lydia praise how beautiful Haven looks. They both always cry at weddings, but Mom knows that Haven will be the strong one. After Haven had come home last night, Mom simply had hugged her, and Mom, Haven and Ashley had spent the night talking about old times. Holding Mom's hand as they walk to the car, Haven thinks they will now start over with their own memories. Haven will start her own timeline with her own boyfriends. She wants to tell Ashley, but the church is too crowded. Walking down the aisle, Haven wishes she could apologize to Ashley for yesterday and explain that now she understands about Sumner and "how he had brought us back together and given us something in common again" (page 197).
