Chapter 3 Summary

Haven wakes the next morning to a wedding crisis, hearing their neighbor, Lydia Catrell, talking to Mom at 8 A.M. about more problems from the troublesome bridesmaid, Carol Cliffordson. When Ashley enters the kitchen and learns Carol has cancelled again, she is furious that Carol is being so selfish and threatens to elope with Lewis before storming out of the house. Haven watches her sister standing on the front lawn in her nightgown, looking small and alone.
