Chapter 11 Summary

When Tex awakens briefly in the hospital, Mason is there with him. Tex remembers that he has been shot. When he sees a bandage on Mason's head, he asks if Mason was shot too. Mason explains that he assaulted Lem, but that Lem fought back. Still in a fog, Tex does not understand why Mason would beat up Lem. Tex asks when he can see Jamie, but is told that only immediate family is allowed to visit. When Tex awakens again later, he is in even more pain. A police officer comes in to question him, and he answers just as Lem asked him to, explaining that the fight had been about money. The cop does not seem very interested.
