Chapter 10 Summary
Tex keeps on running, and when a car pulls up next to him, he jumps in; it is Lem. Lem asks where he is going, and Tex says he is going wherever Lem is. Lem says he is heading back to the city and needs to make one stop first. Tex says go ahead, so Lem keeps driving. Tex is annoyed that Lem is driving so slowly, especially since he is driving that way because he is stoned. Lem confesses that he does not really hate Mason, picking up the conversation from where he and Tex left off earlier that day. Tex's mind is not on the conversation; instead, he is remembering Pop's silence upon being confronted with the fact that he is not Tex's father.
