Chapter 5 Summary

When Mason announces that he needs to go into the city on Saturday morning, Tex asks if he can go along; Mason agrees. However, when Tex discovers that Mason is actually going to the hospital for medical tests, he becomes extremely worried: what would he do without his older brother? The morning of the test, Mason does not want Tex waiting around nervously and fidgeting, so he sends Tex out with the truck for a couple of hours. Tex goes to a shopping center, and after embarrassing himself with a cute sales clerk, goes to a store that sells outdoor gear. While looking around, Tex finds a fishing lure that he wants to buy.
