Summary

At night, Tess learns that Anathuthia did go through the cavern. Pathka says his dream showed him a wheat field (where they are at) but he does not know how to follow her. After a few days, the workers realize it is too deep to fill. Instead, they build a detour. A geologist, Nicolas, tells her that the detour is temporary until the boulders arrive. Tess suggests a bridge and asks if he has heard of the World Serpents. He does not believe they exist but that Countess Margarethe is going to the Archipelagos to look for one. Tess shows him Pathka’s device and tells him to explore the cavern himself.

Later, Boss Gen invites Tess to her tent to offer some clothes to deal with Tess’ period. When the detour is done, Pathka tells Tess to stay up top while...
