Summary

Tess dreams that she cut her foot off with a cleaver, but does not remember why she did it, only that it took incredible strength. She wakes up in an unfamiliar room and throws up. She finds Seraphina and learns they are at the Queen’s summer home where Seraphina will stay until her baby is born. She tells Tess that Jeanne’s marriage is finalized and Richard told the others that Jacamo provoked Tess, so she will not be punished for breaking his nose. Tess says she sat aside her own wants for her family, but Seraphina says she turned away from every other option.
