Behn's poem "Ten Years after Your Deliberate Drowning" is obviously about a suicide, but it is also about love. This is made evident in the first six lines of the poem. The speaker is feeling left behind. As she sits at her desk working, she thinks about her loss. There are two moths on the window in front of her, which, in the mind of the speaker, might symbolize the speaker and the person she has lost. The phrase "identical moths" might be a reference to the closeness the speaker and the person who passed away had. These moths are separated from the speaker, though. There is a glass between them and her. The glass could represent the invisible shield that a person feels when someone she loved has died.
