Summary

Over breakfast, Lucy asked Alice if she would like to visit the nearby town of Chefchaouen with her. They arrived three hours later after a taxi drive through the rolling green mountains. Alice brought her camera, and began taking photos as they wandered through the medina. The atmosphere was light and fresh, and they soon found a riad where they could spend the night. After a dinner of couscous and tagine, Alice realized she had stained her only dress, and Lucy convinced her to try on a pair of her own trousers. After the excitement of the day Lucy could not sleep. First her thoughts were of happy memories, but she soon remembered pain of losing Alice. She had walked the New York streets night after night, unable to sleep. Panicked, she woke Alice and told her they needed to leave Tangier. Neither...
