Chapter 33 - Watch With Me - Narration reveals how Essie's faith in God sustains her in her prison cell, comparing her fear to Christ's fear in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before his crucifixion, and also comparing the way Laura denied her and their friendship to the way Christ was denied by Saint Peter.
